About Tom Berarducci
Tom Berarducci started his career in technology after graduating with Honors from Case Institute of Technology with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He began work in the Kodak Research Laboratories as a Research Scientist working on high-speed film scanning electronics concepts. He designed and built parallel processor image processing electronics, and wrote firmware and software.
Tom then moved into product commercialization, designing scanning electronics for the famed Kodak PhotoCD product. After that, Tom began his management career, starting as a Group Leader in the Kodak Research Labs, then as Chief Engineer, Development Manager, CTO for digital cameras, and eventually Director of Technology for Kodak’s Digital and Applied Imaging division in the late 1990s.
Tom spent the last 10 years of his Kodak career at the Director level. He worked for years as a manager of highly technical design groups, creating such products as the world’s first USB digital video camera [the Kodak DVC 300] as well as the highly popular desktop imaging software, Kodak EasyShare software.
For years, Tom Berarducci was the key technical liaison between Kodak and such powerhouse companies as Microsoft, Intel, Adobe, and Apple. He played critical roles in the negotiation of legal and Intellectual Property [IP] agreements between these companies and many, many others.
Tom was a founding Board Member for the Secure Digital [SD] Card Association, representing Kodak along with Toshiba, Sandisk, Panasonic and others. Tom has spoken Internationally on the topics of digital imaging and imaging technologies. He holds nine US patents in the areas of computer architecture and digital imaging.
In addition, Tom was involved in key business strategy discussions at the highest levels of Kodak and other companies. He has met personally with industry leaders around the globe, and had the privilege and unique opportunity to observe them, their teams, and their companies in action.
